MVTS Technologies has provided value-added services to the semiconductor Automated Test Equipment (ATE) industry since it was founded in 1994 under its original name of MV Technical Sales, LLC. The company’s initial product was comprised of refurbished LTX Corporation ATE.
MVTS has always measured itself against the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and the manufacturers’ business models. Therefore, MVTS considers itself in partnership with OEMs rather than equipment brokers. Our refurbishment process—employing our own factory-trained personnel—is vastly superior to anything else offered in the brokerage community today. With its global presence, offices, facilities and wide range of services and inventory, MVTS has built a solid reputation within the Automated Test Equipment industry.
In 1998, MVTS signed an agreement with LTX Corp. to become the Exclusive Authorized Reseller for the LTX 77/90 and Master Series legacy product lines, thus ensuring ongoing customer support for these products. MVTS also designed and manufactured two key enhancement products, the MV200 and MV Master. These products aimed to replace the aging tester controllers, thereby further extending the life of both platforms. The MV200 became MVTS Technologies' flagship product, with sales of more than 700 units.
Stemming from the success of the original agreement, LTX Corp. continued to transition its legacy product support over to MVTS. In addition, MVTS currently provides specific services for the LTX Delta and Synchro HT/AC and Fusion AC product lines. Consult this table to see the assignment of responsibilities.
MVTS customers had long expressed a desire to obtain the same level of support on older Teradyne testers that they had been receiving on their LTX platforms. Therefore, in 2006—based on customer requests and consistent with the company’s desire to broaden its product base—MVTS entered Teradyne’s market. Considering Teradyne’s large industry market share and install base, its legacy products represented a logical next step for MVTS.
MVTS quickly built up its Teradyne inventory and hired key ex-Teradyne technical personnel to ensure the same level of competency as exhibited on its LTX products. In late 2006, MVTS successfully supplied multiple Teradyne legacy testers to one of its key partner customers. The testers were delivered on time and received accolades on all levels—from quality and functionality to aesthetics.
MVTS currently offers both refurbished A5XX and Catalyst systems and maintains inventory levels to supply most configurations. Other key partnerships with MVTS have enabled the company to expand its offerings to include short-term leases of testers and options.
The company’s 2007 goals include expanding relationships with both LTX and Teradyne and increasing customer partnerships in order to remain the industry-preferred, premium ATE capacity partner.
