Synchro Maintenance

Course Scope
Intended for:
Maintenance and Test Technicians
Duration:
Five (5) days

Course Overview:
Learn basic system hook-up and how to isolate network problems to a node or cable. Learn power requirements for the system and power requirements for individual crates and modules. Learn the capabilities of the different options that make up the Synchro Test System. Learn which modules are required for each of the different subsystems that make up the Synchro. Learn the different busses within the Synchro and which busses are required by the various crates. Learn the numbering scheme for the different crates in a single and dual headed machine. Learn to utilize the UNIX operating system and the LTX operating system to calibrate and troubleshoot the Synchro system.

  • Required processes required for network and systems to function
  • Basic workstation and network troubleshooting
  • Creating a network map of interconnection

DAY 3-5

  • Linear subsystems overview
  • Powering up the powering down the tester
  • Module location for the linear subsystems
  • Removal and replacement of linear modules
  • Calibration and checks for linear subsystems
  • Interdependency of linear subsystems
  • LTX operating system banners description and uses for files required to power up tester and how to modify them for a specific tester

DAY 6

  • Linear options
  • Wide band sampler
  • rf-01 modules and checkers
  • rf-02 modules and checkers

DAY 7-9

  • Digital subsystem overview
  • Single igen/pts dual igen/pts configuration
  • Linear to digital interdependency
  • Digital calibration checks
  • Removal and replacement of digital modules
  • Digital controls and buss structure
  • Overview of diagnostics manual and troubleshooting
  • Linear and digital timing interaction

DAY 10

  • Digital options
  • VMS-08
  • VMS-20
  • VMS-320
  • SSDP (super speed digital pins) for Synchro AC
